  • The fact that Whatsapp decided to sell out in favor of Facebook caught us all by surprise. And like with Google renouncing it’s Reader services the user quickly adapted towards other services. In this regard the app you’re about to read about seems like a Whatsapp clone in about every way. But for once I don’t consider that a bad thing.

Telegram LLC offer their app with the same naming on the Store for free and with no ads whatsoever. As already stated it functions exactly like Whatsapp – from requiring your phone number on first access and to the sharing options and some interface elements. Still it does come with certain advantages. Like the fact that it seems very fast. That is especially when sharing a video for example – which by the way can be up to 1 GB in size.

Then you have the usual customisation options, that Whatsapp took so long to implement, and a special attention towards the security features – another positive aspect. The cloud storage features which allow you to access your messages on multiple devices are quite a treat. Al-in-all the app is about the best replacement for the former service now owned by Facebook I’ve found. Why don’t you convince for yourselves and get it from the Store.
