  • Since the Wii U wasn’t a hit for Nintendo, the company turned to mobile, but in the meantime its biggest threat may actually be a solution related to Chromecast, not mobile gaming per se. There’s something called Motion Tennis for Chromecast, that looks brilliant, judging by the demo below.

This game turns phones into Wii remotes and even smartwatches can be used to play tennis. The UI isn’t half bad and it’s certainly better than the one of the first Wii Sports game series, to be honest. Motion Tennis Cast can be found in the Play Store and comes from Rolocule. It allows you to play the game on a big screen TV via Chromecast, while using the handset as a motion controller.

Rolocule is working to get the Android Wear smartwatch in the mix, as a controller as well. They debuted Motion Tennis for iPhone and Apple TV back in 2013 and got some traction then. What makes it even better is that Motion Tennis Cast is a free download, with IAPs and also works with Chrome browsers and Smart TVs with Miracast and AllShareCast.
