  • The YouTube app for Android got updated today, jumping quite a bit in version, going from 6.0.3 straight up to 10.02.3. There is some novelty to benefit from here, including the return of the voice search.

We also get a new format for the sharing options and a bunch of new icons. YouTube 10’s biggest change involves a new share menu, that lists out all the sharing apps in a grid instead of a list, which makes it much easier to see all the options. The “copy URL” option has been placed at the top of the pop up window, which is quite useful, since many users went straight for it when opening the sharing window.

The voice search has returned, complete with the usual microphone icon, that signals the start of the voice query soon. Other minor changes include the circular replay button that has been reversed direction-wise. Users who tried the app on older devices have said that the update makes the app work better and faster. You can get the APK here.
