  • It’s very rare to find a platformer that’s both engaging and funny, but that’s the case with Zombie Catchers. We played the game on the ASUS ZenFone Max phablet and had a blast. This title comes from back in 2014 and it’s available for free in the Play Store.

It involves two alien creatures, that are capturing zombies in swamps. They lure them with brains, hide behind a hill and await to harpoon them or throw a net onto them. There are also traps to set and some of the zombies will retaliate, making the alien confused. Once the zombie escapes to the side, it’s all over and you have to catch at least a few of the half a dozen or so undead available.

Once the zombies are caught, you put them into special capsules, that turn them into mush, basically slurpies for people to drink. This awards you money and lets you pay for upgrades of the weapons and capsules. Timers are included when looking for zombies in the swamp and also when upgrading a weapon or waiting for its cooldown period, so this spoils the fun a bit, but the game is free after all.

Dialogs between aliens are funny, graphics are cute and the gameplay is engaging. What’s not to like here? You can also use a jetpack to fly and gain ground on the zombies. We give the game an 8.7 out 10 and you can get it here.
